真實的狀態

到底怎樣才算是活出一種最真實的狀態？

也許真實與虛假都只是一種二元的對立分類系統。

但的的確確，容許人能夠笑談風雨間欣賞食物的基礎在泥土上面。毫無疑問是現實環境長出來的東西，但為什麼要這麼虛擬的哲學、談吐、研討來覆蓋現實環境長出來的東西？

現實環境長出來的東西是不是一個不斷被虛擬抽空，最後只流下虛有其表的模仿現實，但又可容文字來溝通概念？

Greetings

Launched in the early 1970s Pioneer 10 and 11 were appropriately named - becoming the first spacecraft to travel through the asteroid belt, first to fly by Jupiter and Saturn, and the first human artifacts to venture beyond the solar system. Now coasting through interstellar space, they carry with them greetings in the form of a gold anodized plaque with symbolic drawings as illustrated above.

The male and female figures are drawn to the same scale as the Pioneer spacecraft shown behind them. Immediately to the left is a map of the position of the sun with respect to nearby pulsars (... or pulsating radio objects..... whatever that means) and the center of the galaxy while below is a drawing of the solar system indicating the planet of origin. In the upper left is a schematic of two fundamental states of the hydrogen atom.

These diagrams along with other details of the plaque were designed by Carl Sagan of Cornell University and are intended to be decipherable by spacefaring extraterrestrial civilizations.

I couldn't help thinking, with all the dreams I've had lately, what would other beings dream of? Say an animal, then what about a robot? With the conflicting definition there is as to what a robot is, I wanted to find something more applicable and understood by all.
They say Google will be the next AI and we all know what Google is and how it works (no, not in programming terms)


So here's my question.
What would Google dream of?

Finally have some personal time at the airport after a crazy Japan trip and intense Hong Kong socialising parties.

I always thought that unplanned time is the best time in a day. Friends being late, missing a bus, stepping on dog poo. These all make you stop and rethink, oh what should I do now, since I have time that I never planned to have.
In fact, I almost stepped on dog poo today while rushing back home to pack and catch the flight to Los Angeles. If I had stepped on dog poo, my shoe may be a lot cleaner, newer and smell better than had I not stepped on dog poo as I would zealously clean the Nike pair over and over again to hide any hint of the result of not paying attention to where my next foot will land on.

My plan for the remaining 10 day of holiday (in fact, my brother is getting wedded on 21 Aug). Is to relax and not think of anything. But before all that happens, let me share with you some interesting stuff:

Just spent the morning watching a programme called Britain from Above on BBC iplayer. (For readers not from UK, you will be unable to view it because you do not subscribe to the overly charged UK broadband network).

This programme is about comparing aerial photographs taken by German planes in World War II, as they slid into the British skies to find targets for bombing jets that would later scorch the landscape, with that of contemporary aerial photos.
I came across this poetic line when the Scottish, Glasglow born narrator Andrew Marr talked about weathermen gathering climatic data from outer space:

"...looking down from above are robots, not angels..."

That sentence totally took away my concentration from the programme as I pondered about how even space now is taken over by technology and how our lives revolve around technology. We are thrown into this age of technology and it embraces us disregarding our preferences.

But again, how many relationships (be it love, friends, business, research-based, creativity-based) are started over email, text messages and instant messaging. Humanity now runs in the veins of optical fibers and the music of frequencies bonuces off our own building walls.

I couldn't help but think of the great forces at work here. Perhaps,
Looking up from below are angels, not humans.

The rain is coming at the window from all sides while the sun shines high above, another typical day for Edinburgh.
